If your parent lives alone, you know the worry. Are they eating? Have they fallen? Is the heating on? Are they taking their medication? A welfare check is a short, friendly visit from a familiar carer who checks that everything is as it should be. Our carers check your parent's general wellbeing, mood and alertness, ensure they have eaten and are drinking enough fluids, confirm medication has been taken or administer it if needed, check the home environment for hazards such as trip risks, heating issues or security concerns, look for signs of deterioration in health, mobility or cognition, provide companionship and a friendly face, and record everything on our Nourish care system so you stay informed. If anything concerns us, we flag it immediately to our supervisors, to you and to your parent's GP if appropriate.
