Falls Prevention
Falls are the leading cause of injury in older adults. Our carers help reduce the risk through careful support, home safety and mobility assistance.
Preventing falls before they happen
A fall can be life-changing for an elderly person - leading to fractures, hospital stays, loss of confidence and reduced independence. Prevention is always better than treatment.
Our carers are trained to identify fall risks, support safe mobility and help your parent stay confident and active at home.
How we reduce fall risk
Every client receives a comprehensive risk assessment that identifies potential hazards in their home and daily routine. Our falls prevention approach includes mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques, encouraging regular movement and gentle exercise, ensuring walking aids are used correctly, monitoring medication side effects that may affect balance, supporting adequate nutrition and hydration (which affects strength and alertness), and identifying environmental hazards like loose rugs, poor lighting or cluttered walkways.
We also work with occupational therapists and GPs to ensure your parent has the right equipment and support in place.
After a fall
If your parent has already had a fall, our carers provide reassurance and practical support during recovery. We adjust care plans to account for reduced mobility, monitor confidence levels and help rebuild independence gradually.
Our QR code emergency system means that if a fall does happen, first responders have instant access to your parent's medical history and care details.
Peace of mind for families
Worrying about a parent falling when they're alone is one of the most common fears families share with us. Regular visits from a familiar carer significantly reduce that risk.
We provide falls prevention support across Morecambe, Bare, Torrisholme, Heysham, Bolton le Sands, Carnforth and surrounding areas.
