Catheter Care

Living with a catheter requires careful, consistent care to prevent infection and maintain comfort. All of our carers are trained in catheter care, so your parent receives safe, professional support every visit. We manage catheter care at home so your parent can avoid unnecessary hospital or clinic visits and maintain their normal routine.

Our carers are trained to maintain catheter site hygiene and cleanliness, empty and change catheter bags safely, monitor for signs of infection, blockage or displacement, ensure adequate fluid intake to support catheter function, maintain accurate records of output and any concerns, and liaise with district nurses and GPs when clinical intervention is needed. We follow strict infection control protocols and use the Nourish care system to log every aspect of catheter care.

Catheter care is intimate and can feel embarrassing. Our carers are trained to handle every aspect with discretion, sensitivity and respect. Your parent's dignity is never compromised. We take time to build trust and ensure your parent feels comfortable with their dedicated carers.
