Current Vacancies

Three roles. One great team.

Click on a role to see everything about it - pay rates, perks, and what to expect. Whether you want total flexibility or a stable contracted position, we have a role that fits your life.

What you get:

Contracted hours - your income is protected
Fixed rota built around your commitments
Full training and funded qualifications
Career progression from day one
Mileage paid at 25p/mile on actual routes
Pool car available if yours breaks down

Pay rates:

Care Worker0-1 yr1-2 yrs2-5 yrs5-10 yrs10+ yrs

Weekend£13.50£13.50as above *as above *as above *
Bank Holiday£19.00/hr
Christmas Day£21.50/hr

* Weekend rates for 2-5, 5-10 and 10+ years match the weekday rate for that band. Bank Holiday and Christmas Day rates apply to all staff.

Mileage paid at 25p per mile - calculated on actual routes, not "as the crow flies".

Contracted hours - your income is protected

If you turned up to work tomorrow and every last client was in hospital - you will still get paid as though they were all at home. Your income is protected. Sleep at night knowing your bills are covered.

🎉 And a cheeky extra perk...

If a client cancels on the same day as their visit, we pay you the full rate anyway. You don't lose a penny for something completely out of your control.

We pay your annual leave separately

A lot of care companies hide your holiday pay inside your hourly rate and call it "inclusive." That means you're technically earning less per hour than you think. We don't do that. Your hourly rate is your hourly rate - and your annual leave is paid on top, separately.

We calculate your travel and visit time properly

Some companies calculate travel time "as the crow flies" - meaning you're not paid for the actual journey. We pay for real travel time between visits, because that's the fair thing to do.

Pool car for emergencies

If your car breaks down or is in the garage, we have a pool car available so you don't lose hours or income. No other local provider offers this.

What you get:

Pick up shifts when you want - you're in control
No guaranteed hours, no obligation
Same pay rates as contracted carers
Annual leave accrues even as a bank worker - unlike most companies
Minimum 1 shift per month to stay compliant and active

Bank Carer - what to expect

No fixed rota, no guaranteed hours. You pick up shifts when it suits you. The only requirement is a minimum of 1 shift per month to remain active and compliant. Same pay rates as contracted carers. Annual leave accrues even on a bank contract.

Bank Carers accrue annual leave too

Unlike most companies, Bank Carers at MoralCare accrue annual leave on every hour worked. You pick up what you want, when you want - and you still build up holiday entitlement as you go.

Bank Carers are equally important

This is not a lesser role. The responsibility is identical to a contracted position - you are caring for real people in their homes. The only difference is the flexibility of your schedule. You are no less valued, no less trusted and no less important than any contracted member of our team.

On-call pay

Paid on top of your normal hourly rate

£15

per evening on call

£60

per weekend on call

On-call can vary. Sometimes there may be no calls at all and you have got extra cash for nothing. Sometimes it can be busy - it is completely random, but more often than not it is only a few calls. If you are required to go out and cover any visits or sit with someone who has had a fall, you will be paid your normal hourly rate on top of the on-call rate.

What on-call means

You'll answer the out-of-hours phone when emergencies arise - staff absences, missed visits, service user concerns. Your job is to keep the service safe and running until office hours resume. On-call schedule is negotiated at interview.

Supervisor responsibilities

Spot checks and supervisions with care staff
On-call duties (out-of-hours emergency cover)
Audits and frontline quality monitoring
Report issues and improvements to the office
Foster a positive culture within the care team
Occasional office cover during manager annual leave
Level 3 qualification preferred (not essential)

The Role

This is not just a job. It is a vocation.

You will support people aged 65 and over to stay safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes. Every day is different. Every person is different. And the impact you have is real - you are not just filling a shift, you are genuinely improving someone's life.

We will be honest with you: this role is not for everyone. It is demanding, it requires you to think on your feet, and the people you care for are often vulnerable. But if you have the right values, we will give you everything you need to be brilliant at it.

What you'll do day to day

Personal care - bathing, dressing, grooming
Medication administration and collection
Meal and drink preparation
Laundry and home management to reduce falls
Emptying catheter bags and stoma bags
Toileting assistance and continence care
Manual handling - hoists and transfers
Pressure relief and skin integrity checks
Observing and reporting health concerns
Keeping homes safe and preventing loneliness
Monitoring health, intake and output
Liaising with other healthcare professionals

The thing people always ask about

“Are there actually hours in care work?”

Yes. Contracted hours. Every single carer at MoralCare has them.

That means if you turned up to work tomorrow and every last client was in hospital - you will still get paid as though they were all at home. Your income is protected. Sleep at night knowing your bills are covered.

🎉 And a cheeky extra perk...

If a client cancels on the same day as their visit, we pay you the full rate anyway. You don't lose a penny for something completely out of your control.

What we need from you

A full driving licence and your own vehicle

Essential - our clients are spread across Morecambe and surrounding areas.

A caring, reliable and respectful approach

You will be in people's homes. Dignity and trust are non-negotiable.

Excellent time-keeping

Rotas are built around client visit windows. Being late affects real people.

Clear communication

You must be able to flag concerns to the office promptly and accurately.

A willingness to learn

Experience is great, but not essential. The right attitude is everything.

Your Schedule & Perks

Your Schedule

Your life. Your rota.

Tell us what works for you - childcare, hobbies, family commitments, whatever matters. We build your rota around it. Your pattern repeats on a 2-week rotation, so you always know what you are working. No surprises. No last-minute calls. No stress.

7am - 2pm

Morning shift · ~6 hrs

  • Finished by 2pm - the whole afternoon is yours
  • Shops still open, appointments easy to book
  • Pick the kids up from school with time to spare

2pm - 9pm

Afternoon shift · ~6 hrs

  • Have a proper lie-in - no alarm at 6am
  • Do the school run, gym or errands first
  • Shops still open when you start

7am - 9pm

Full day · ~12 hrs

  • Pack all your hours into fewer days
  • More full days off to do what you love
  • Great for a 3 or 4 day working week

Even better? Mix them up.

An early shift followed by a late shift means you finish at 2pm one day and don't start again until 2pm the next - a full 24 hours off without using a day off.

We encourage a mix of shift types rather than all the same. It helps us match you with more service users and gives you the best work-life balance.

Why MoralCare

Unlike other care jobs...

These are not perks we made up to fill a brochure. They are real things we do differently - because we have worked in care and we know what actually matters.

Predictable rotas - forever

Your rota is so consistent you will know what you are working this time next year. No last-minute changes, no uncertainty.

Fair Christmas - everyone shares it

We don't leave one person to sacrifice their entire Christmas. All staff come in for a couple of hours so no one carries the full load alone.

Shift cover group

Life happens. We have a shift cover group so you can swap shifts with colleagues when something comes up.

Pool car for emergencies

If your car breaks down or is in the garage, we have a pool car so you don't lose hours or income. No other local provider does this.

Real career progression

Carer to supervisor to deputy manager to registered manager - we grow our own people and we mean it.

Qualifications funded

We fund your Level 2 to Level 5 qualifications. No experience needed - we train you from day one.

Not here. Every MoralCare carer has contracted hours. That means if you turned up tomorrow and every last client was in hospital - you would still get paid as though they were all at home. Your income is protected. Sleep at night.

And here's a cheeky extra perk: if a client cancels on the same day as their visit, we pay you the full rate anyway. You don't lose a penny for something that's completely out of your control.

Every single carer comes in on Christmas Day - but only for a handful of visits each. You're out for 2 to 3 hours maximum. No one person carries the whole day. No one misses Christmas.

Because everyone shares it, no one is stuck at work for a full shift while everyone else is at home. You pop out, do what needs doing for our clients, and get yourself back home to enjoy your day. And you're paid £21.50 per hour for those 2-3 hours.

You need a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per fortnight - but that could mean every other full weekend off. Work Saturday and Sunday on week 1, have the whole weekend off on week 2. Or work just Saturdays and keep every Sunday free.

The exact pattern is yours to choose. Tell us what works for your family and we'll build your rota around it - permanently.

Our starting rate is £13.30/hr (above minimum wage), rising every year automatically. Bank holidays pay £19.00/hr and Christmas Day pays £21.50/hr. We also fund your qualifications from Level 2 to Level 5.

We have a clear career ladder: Carer → Supervisor → Trainer → Deputy Manager → Registered Manager. We grow our own people and we mean it - 4 internal promotions since 2021.

Your rota is so consistent you will know what you are working this time next year. You choose your shifts. We build your rota around it and stick to it - forever. No last-minute changes, no uncertainty.

We operate on a fixed 2-week rotation. Once it's set, it doesn't change unless you ask us to change it.

We have a pool car available for exactly this situation. If your car is in the garage or breaks down, you don't lose hours or income. No other local provider offers this.

No experience needed. No qualifications needed. We hire for values, not CVs. If you've worked in retail, hospitality, cleaning, childcare - anything that involves looking after people - that counts.

We provide full training from day one, including 1-2 weeks of shadowing experienced carers. We also fund your Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification.

Not at MoralCare. Your hourly rate is your hourly rate. Annual leave is paid separately, on top. Many care companies roll holiday pay into the hourly rate and call it 'inclusive' - meaning you're actually earning less per hour than you think.

We pay real travel time between visits - calculated on actual routes, not 'as the crow flies'. Our visit times are actual care time with the client. Most of our clients are within a short radius of Morecambe, so travel is minimal.

Mileage is paid at 25p per mile on top of your hourly rate.

No you won't. Our app calculates the actual time you need to get from A to B, and pays you your mileage automatically - plus your time between appointments. Another perk? Whilst you're driving between appointments you can check in with the spouse at home, or just have a good sing-song and get paid for it!

The best job I have had!

I have worked with MoralCare for almost a year now and I say 'with' and not 'for' purely due to the level of support and teamwork I've received from management and other colleagues. Management are truly great, prioritising not just the needs of the service users but our wellbeing as carers too. I truly feel valued as a carer and whenever I've raised a concern it's been dealt with.
