Respite Home Care Services
How can we support families with respite care?
We're going to be brutally honest here, being a full-time carer for a friend or family member is not for the faint-hearted. You can get frustrated with your loved one, your loved one can get frustrated with you, not to mention how hard it is having your loved one depend on you and the weight of responsibility.
Unlike us care providers, families that provide care don't tend to get days off or breaks. The one thing we always say to our staff, and we will say it to you too: How can you meet other people's needs if you don't meet your own? Never feel guilty or ashamed of needing a break, its healthy for both you and your loved one. It also gives you an opportunity to test the waters and see how you both cope with it mentally, before introducing a more permanent care package.
How can we help?
- We can provide daily visits (up to 6 times a day) so you can have a holiday! Or even just some time at your own home to breathe. We can meet all the needs of the person such as medication, washing/dressing, laundry, meal preparation, drinks - most things! We can even grant online access to notes so you can check in if you need to to make sure everything is going well and your loved one is okay and being well looked after.
- We can provide an hour or two a week so you can do some shopping, or even just have a morning off.
- We can provide a one-off block of 8 hours of solid care so you can have the entire day off to recuperate. We accommodate to both your and your loved ones' needs and wishes.
- The only thing we are not equipped for is 24-hour (live-in) care - however, we do plan to expand towards this in the future.
